Cloud City Hangars News: The cavern-sized aerospacecraft hangars in the underbelly of Cloud City are now open for traffic and storage.
Cloud City Hangars:
Hangars for aircraft and Spacecraft line the outermost areas of Cloud City II's lower hemisphere. They range in size from that of an Outlander's normal, one-car garage, to just slightly bigger than a three-story house. Inisfreeans tend to fly motorcycle-sized personal hovercraft up here, but guests are welcome to fly up in as much as a 'flying saucer' with a diameter as wide as 100 feet. As long as your vessel is not more than 10 stories tall, it is welcome to land in our larger hangars up here.
Dimensions & Layout:
Small hangars here are 10'x10'x10', and hangars range in dimensions of width, depth, and height all the way up to the house-sized ones which are as much as 132'x132'x132'. Each hangar has a side which opens completely, wall to wall, to the Inisfreean sky just outside the rounded border of Cloud City II. Service hatches are on the four sides immediately adjacent the side with that skyward opening, and luxurious double-doors are on the far side. Service hatches connect with the tunnels leading to Cloud City II's own internal silos grid, while the double-doors open up to the mansion-sized suites in this lower hemisphere of Cloud City II.
Tractor beams and repulsor fields (similar in concept to magnetic repulsion) are used as anchors, bumpers, and tie-downs in these hangars, preventing any accidental collisions or losses of the airships that park within them. These technologies also make inspections and maintenance very easy, as the craft cannot slip or fall, and are almost always suspended at least a few feet up in mid air; crawling and even walking beneath some parts of them is a painless task.
