The Absence of Charon:

The double-planetoid Pluto-Charon is now, as was long before, just Pluto, as its co-orbiting partner ice sphere Charon was melted by Alliance ships to reveal the Mass Effect Relay contained within.

Alliance ships assisted in re-stabilizing the orbital path of the exposed Mass Effect Relay, and it now orbits Pluto as one of the planetoid's three moons; the original two bodies no longer being considered a binary system; co-planetoid; orbiting one another.

This system was named by the Egyptians, who called the star "Amun-Ra". Over the many generations of humankind's terrestrial development, Egyptian Sun worship became Son worship (with the advent of Christianity worshiping "the Son of God" instead of the Sun-God), and "Amun-Ra" became "Amen"; spoken to the Son of God, instead of being about the Sun-God as the first part of the former God's (the Sun's) name.
